With a director and main character cast, the next Hellboy film is pushing forward with getting a studio ready for filming. According to reports, Lionsgate is the studio in talks to acquire the planned Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen reboot. David Harbour is set to star as the titular hero, with Neil Marshall directing.
The two previous films were set-up by numerous studios - Revolution Studios and Columbia Pictures teamed on the 2004 original, while Relatively Media and Universal Pictures released 2008's Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen is anticipated to begin filming this fall for a 2018 release.
