As a Neil Gaiman fan, news that Dark Horse won't be publishing the upcoming American Gods comic adaptation is not good news to start the year with.
Despite being on on the cover of the new Diamond Previews and that the story is written by one of Britain’s best-selling modern fantasy authors, the comic book adaptation of Neil Gaiman‘s American Gods by P Craig Russell and Scott Hampton will not be officially distributed in British comic stores.
Not all hope for seeing the series is lost though. It appears that publishers Headline have the exclusive rights to sell Neil Gaiman graphic novels published by Dark Horse in the UK, but no the serialised individual issues, so anyone in the UK wanting to read the comics will have to wait until the end of 2017 for the collected or pay extra for imported comics which can be expensive to ship.
When you consider the considerable demand for Gaiman's work in the UK, this is a real shame not just for fans of his work, but for Dark Horse as well.
