Fables coming to an end with issue #150
Reading time: 1 minute

Fables has been a great success for Vertigo. The series blazed past one hundred issues with virtually no end in sight, it has also gained some added love with the brand new Telltale video game, which just launched the first episode. Unfortunately, after the giant war seeded throughout the tale, the book has lacked some direction for quite a long time. Giving the larger a tale a finite ending will serve to make many readers interested in the property until it reaches the proper conclusion. With shows such as Once Upon A Time on the air, one has to wonder if the book was ahead of it’s time. Writer Bill Willingham has also announced that he is retiring from formal comic book work after the series reaches a proper conclusion. Fables launched in 2002, and the most recent issue solicited has been #137. Willingham and company have nearly a year to formally conclude the long running saga. Here is the cover to issue #100.
