Ellis and Shalvey untangle Moon Knight

Today Hero Complex revealed that a major character is coming back to an ongoing series in the form of Moon Knight. Superstar creators Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev were the last team to attempt a series with the character. Unfortunately, the run did not quite stick, fortunately the publisher is trying again with the fan favorite vigilante. The very acclaimed writer known as Warren Ellis is now going to tackle the character head first. The book also features colors from the masterful Jordie Bellaire. Rising talent Declan Shalvey is set to start cutting his teeth handling the art duties of the anti-hero. The run is set to add some unity to the different visions of the strange persona known as Moon Knight. Throughout the years Marc Spector has been plagued with numerous personalities that lacked a distinctive human, and transformed into a mess of ideas. Bendis tried to make the hero perceive that he was actually suffering from Bipolar disorder, that idea has seemingly been wiped out. Now, another drastic overhaul of the caped crusader in white is going to be absolutely necessary.

The best Moon Knight stories for me were always ground-level but weird crime, ‘Weird crime’ has kind of been the touchstone for me for this revival.
there’s just a wonderful strangeness to seeing that particular figure against a New York landscape…. [of all the] urban caped superhero characters, I think he’s almost the most incongruous.
I’ve tried to clean that up and bring more logic to it — as much logic as you can bring to a Marvel book involving someone brought back from the dead by an Egyptian god.
