Paul Rudd is official for Ant-Man

Marvel have now officially announced that Paul Rudd will play Ant-Man in the 2015 film. After a few days of speculation we now have our official first piece of casting for Edgar Wright's Ant-Man. Question marks do remain though over which incarnation of Ant-Man Rudd will play - both Hank Pym (the first, and an original member of the Avengers) and Scott Lang have previously been mentioned in connection with the film. Hank Pym is more than likely the preference of fans though. Now we just have to wait to see who will be playing The Wasp alongside him.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige broke the news to Marvel fans:
"When Edgar Wright came to us with the idea of Paul Rudd, we felt a huge sense of relief because the first step in creating any Marvel Studios film is finding the right star. We knew early on that we had found the right person in Paul. When he not only agreed to do it but became as enthusiastic as any actor we'd ever met with about doing the work, we knew we'd found the right guy. We couldn't be more excited for our audiences to see what he's going to do to bring Ant-Man to life.
While little is known about the plot of the film, at least we now know will be will donning the Ant-Man outfit that Marvel showed fans a while ago. And I have to say that it's a good choice. Whilst he's mainly known for his comedy roles, he is a dynamic actor who will bring fans of Ant-Man a fantastic performance (just you wait and see). If they decide to add some comedy to the film and use Rudd's talents, imagine seeing him and Robert Downey Jnr on screen together in a future Avengers film. They could probably play of each other very well.
