Waid and Bagley to Relaunch the Hulk with a New #1
Reading time: 1 minute

Hulk is now joining a string of other characters in having a brand new Marvel relaunch with a slightly altered creative team, but retaining the same writer. Mark Waid is staying on as the scripter of the series, the new change in direction will be landmarked with a brand new #1 alongside All-New Marvel NOW! Mark Waid is joined by another Mark in the form of Mark Bagley. The popular artist was working with the Fantastic Four during the recent Marvel NOW launch, and now is joining the ever popular Waid in chronicling the adventures of the jade giant.
The first volume of the comic book was centered around Bruce Banner really starting to invent something as a human, and letting out his anger via S.H.I.E.L.D. when there was a conflict. When asked about the change in the direction of the book on CBR the scribe said the following,
they bring Banner to a very important realization -- that perhaps his motives for re-engaging his scientific mind weren't the purest. How much of his rededication has to do with genuinely wanting to help the world -- and how much has to do with his own ego? There's a real comeuppance for Bruce in issue #20 and it sets the stage for the new launch.

The two creators had some added insight on working with each other Waid added,
“Mark and I have been wanting to work together for years, and now's the chance. We're both very much of the mindset that story comes first, before style, before flair -- story first. And he's a true storyteller.”
While Bagley explained how he felt about working with the scribe on the series,
I said, "I've never worked with Mark Waid and I'd love to work with Mark Waid." Then Mark said, "I'd love to work with you too. Maybe we can make that happen." There is some great enthusiasm on both sides, that should add up to a really interesting comic book.
The relaunched Hulk #1 is hitting store shelves sometime in April.
