Andrews to Launch a New Iron Fist ongoing Series

With Iron Fist headed straight towards Netflix, there is now some renewed interest in the B-list hero. Marvel announced a small preview yesterday featuring only one name that seemed to hint at the announcement of an All-New Marvel NOW! title. Today a new ongoing series was announced for the character entitled Iron Fist: The Living Weapon. The title is to be both written and drawn by the one and only Kaare Kyle Andrews, and is about Danny Rand (a.k.a. Iron Fist) getting growing despondent with his current life and seeking the wonder of the magical city called K’un L’un. It’s there where Rand was raised in the way of mystical martial arts.
The news was announced by Hero Complex, where Andrews had the following to say about the new comic.
That’s for me, personal, like I can draw on paper again and feel like I’m a real artist and not just a computer program. In film, if I’m directing, I’ve got a hundred guys working under me, And comic books – it’s just you in a room…. You don’t have the noise of a studio and producers and the crew. You don’t have budget problems. Because – what can you draw today?
The first issue of the new series is set to launch in April.
