Colossive Press kick off Cartographies: Series Ten with two beautiful zines
Colossive Press started their Colossive Cartographies Series Ten with two beautiful-looking zines - Anatomy of a (Well-Funded) Public Library, and Tea with Granny. Two very different but equally stunning zines that make clever use of the Cartographies format.
Anatomy of a (Well-Funded) Public Library, created by Chloe Starling, a librarian, comics creator and illustrator, envisions the crucial services and support provided by public libraries and their staff to the comic community. Despite severe cuts to public service funding, the zine is a timely reminder that we must fight to keep libraries open and thriving. They are magical places that are essential, especially for young people. You can purchase Chloe's cartography for just £2.
Tea with Granny, by the talented Judy Powell, is the next zine in Series Ten. In this zine, Judy recounts a childhood visit to the tearoom at Liberty in London - including a return trip on the No. 94 bus and a brief ride in a black cab. It is a delightful, uplifting piece of work, and you can buy it for just £2.
But that's not all! You can also subscribe to Series Ten and receive all six zines - Chloe's, Judy's, and four more titles that will be announced as soon as they're available - for just £10 (plus P&P). Sign up here! It'll be worth it.
