Following on from last year's successful Kickstarter campaign for Hairy Tales, Russell Hillman (script) and Sergio Calvet (everything else) have reunited for a sequel. Hairy Tales and Bald Truths is funding via Kickstarter right now.
In case you missed it last year, Hairy Tales was an autobiographical comic telling stories from Russell Hillman's teenage years, illustrated by Sergio Calvet. The campaign made enough of a splash to suggest to the creative team that a follow-up may be in order.
To use the full title, Hairy Tales and Bald Truths: 22 Short Stories About Russell Hillman goes through Russell's life, answering 22 common questions –from "What's Your Earliest Memory?" to "What's The Strangest Place You've Ever Had Sex?", and beyond.
Designed to be a user's guide to Russell Hillman, should you ever find yourself in need of one, Hairy Tales and Bald Truths aims to be a fun and funny look at the life of a fairly average person. If you've never read an autobiographical comic before, this is a nice easy place to start.
For just £3 for physical copies or £2 for digital, Hairy Tales and Bald Truths is an affordable and accessible 24-page full-colour book.
Don't worry if you didn't read Hairy Tales – while the books complement one another, it's not necessary to read the first title to follow the second, though a twin-pack of both issues is available as a support tier. You can also find the entire Freaktown Comics back catalogue in physical or digital formats as a higher support tier. All physical tiers also include a digital copy.
The campaign is running for 30 days and is aiming for a total of just £650.
