Indie Spotlight: Abyssal Albion #1

ABYSSAL ALBION #1 is a Lovecraft inspired survival horror set amongst an apocalyptic Britain. Written by Thomas J Campbell with art by Wayne Lowden, this is the start of a four-part series that started in 2020, with Issue 3 heading to Kickstarter soon (you can sign up for the pre-launch here).

This was a smashing first issue in the series and has left us eagerly anticipating the final two issues.

ABOUT ABYSSAL ALBION #1

The GREAT OLD ONES have awoken, and with them death and madness have rapidly spread across the globe. Still, there are a few that remain untouched by the grip of insanity, and it is a pair of such individuals that we now find ourselves following.

Introducing us to the survivor’s guilt-ridden SISTER, and her spirited teenage BROTHER, the pair must navigate through a dark reality nothing but the clothes on their back.

The first issue dives headfirst straight into this frightening new universe. Dragging us deep into dark folklore infested woodlands of England, where the DARK YOUNG, followers of the great old one, SHUB-NIGGURATH, now call home.

About the Creative Team

Writer Thomas J Campbell is a horror fan who had previously written articles and short stories for specialist gaming websites, before moving into the world of screenwriting. He's written the Award-winning crowdfunded short films AND NOTHING HURT, and BEYOND with DEADBOLT FILMS, where he also serves as a Creative Producer and Screenwriter.

Artist Wayne Lowden used to be a storyboard artist and is also known by us for his work on the Plainer Jane comics, which we'll be spotlighting in the future. He has an art style that oozes with unsettling qualities, whilst keeping to a black and white theme.
