Quindrie Press Unveils New Comic Collection on Kickstarter July 1st

Quindrie Press, a micropublisher nominated for Eisner and Ignatz awards, presents three newly released autobiographical comics that explore relationships and love, created by artists with ties to Ireland. The 2025 comic collection features three insightful and emotionally resonant comics from Ashling Larkin, Judy Powell, and Hel Mel, each offering their unique perspectives on relationships.

Through the lens of her mum, Walkiria's cancer diagnosis, Ashling reflects on her Brazilian heritage, as well as the experiences she shared with her mum that both fractured and healed their relationship.

A stunning and powerful reflection on heritage and xenophobia, Broken Frontier called this comic "one of the most beautiful pieces of autobiography I have ever read".

Ashling Larkin is a Brazilian-Irish comic artist, animator, and educator based in Scotland. She is the co-founder of CHIP Collective, a Scottish collective creating informational comic anthologies with the goal of making positive social change.

Ways to Kill My Mother's Lover (With Limited Pocket Money and Minimal Mess) by Judy Powell

The relationship between a grandmother, mother, and granddaughter are at the centre of an unstable family dynamic.

Surrounding the tension is Judy's mother's lover, Beryl, whose presence threatens to destroy the family.

Judy Powell studied Fine Art and has exhibited across Ireland and the UK. She won the Rosalind Penfold Prize for her draft of Ways to Kill My Mother's Lover, and won the DECAF printing prize in 2024 for her comic Keeping Secrets.

A chronicle of a heartbroken dyke braving the murky waters of dating apps.

A brutally honest and strikingly funny exploration of gay yearning, the gamification of dating, and the difficulties of intimacy with strangers.

Hel Mel is an Ireland-based artist working in animation. When not working or painting you can find her smoking in the area of your local dyke night, showing honeys how to speedrun wordle on her busted old phone.

Each of the books will be available to buy separately for £10 each, as a bundle for £25, or as a PDF bundle for just £12. The print bundle also comes with an exclusive print designed by Jules Valera.
