Are Thanos and Loki in Avengers Age Of Ultron?
Avengers Age Of Ultron is going to be a really busy movie anyway fans observe the flick. What would make the film overstuffed is the inclusion of previously teased villains like Thanos or Loki. From Ultron to Thanos these are the Avengers greats that should be utilized to their fullest capabilities in stories with a full cast of gods and superheroes. Fans have been long clamoring for the big Thanos movie that was teased at the first cinematic outing with the team. With the news coming from the major players like longtime actors and director working in the franchise such as Tom Hiddleston and Joss Whedon, there are some new developments about who is in and out of the second movie.
The first big piece of news concerns whether or not Thanos will grace us with his presence in the cinematic experience, to which director Joss Whedon had the following comment,
"We have to stay grounded, It's part of what makes the Marvel universe click -- their relationship to the real world. It's science fiction, and Thanos is not out of the mix, but Thanos was never meant to be the next villain. He's always been the overlord of villainy and darkness."
So it seems there is going to be no Thanos in Avengers 2, Whedon states he is a sort of overlord of evil. This news can be interpreted a few different ways, and to me it seems like this character will be seeded again in this movie. It would be more likely pacing wise, if he had an eventual showdown with the superhero team in the third flick. That is only half of the news as Loki actor Tom Hiddleston announced where the character would be around in the next installment of the franchise.
“I don’t think there’s anything else Loki could contribute to The Avengers, narratively, Joss gave me so many wonderful things to do in that first film that we’d only be trying to repeat ourselves, and probably less well in the second one. I think keeping it fresh and new is good for The Avengers even though it’s a shame for me, And let’s face it, there’s seven or eight of them as it is, and Joss is thinking about adding two more, so the screen’s gonna be a busy place. But I had the time of my life on that film. It was the most fun ever.”
There you have it from the god of thunder himself, no Loki in Age Of Ultron. This is not a bad thing because this is going to be a stuffed movie as it is, nobody would want this fine actor to be shoehorned in at the last second. Now that there are definitively two villains off of the table, there is a clearer picture of this movie being painted in the heads of fans.
