At Comic Book News UK, we're always happy to consider new writers - whether for blog posts, reviews from our selected list of comics, or favourite news from the UK indie comic scene.

We're an inclusive site. We love the diversity in comics, and that's a quality we look for when it comes to writers reading tastes.

We want to celebrate the comics community and help marginalised creators get their work seen. It's why we love publishers like Avery Hill and Quindrie Press, who push the boundaries of comics whilst producing quality and helping marginalised and upcoming creators to publish their work.

We're on the lookout for writers who can write in a way that captures our reader's attention. If you're someone who can understand, assess, and analyse the distinct language and mechanics of comics, then we'd love to hear from you!

Please note that there is no financial compensation involved for any position. All writing is voluntary. The small amount of money the site makes a year is given to the comics community by purchasing comics to pad out our review pool and offer further support to the wonderful comic creators who need it most.

How to apply

If you have a passion for books and comics, we invite you to apply for a position on our staff by sending an email to contact@comicbooknews.co.uk. To give us a glimpse of your writing skills, please submit either two recent writing samples about comics (if you have experience as a comics commentator) or one sample review (if this is your first time) in a text document format. We would also love to hear about the books you are currently reading and how you think you could make Comic Book News UK a better place with your input.

Your interest in our team is greatly appreciated!

What we're looking for

Our doors are wide open to all applicants, especially those with a penchant for small press and alternative comics. We're on the lookout for reviewers, interviewers, and feature writers who share our enthusiasm for socially inclusive comics.
