Lost Doctor Who episodes found

Some great news if you're a Doctor Who fan. A good number of missing Doctor Who episodes have been found, but not by the BBC who destroyed many of the original transmission tapes in the 1960s and 1970s. Many have been found over the years in foreign countries where the episodes were transferred to film in order to be broadcast. Despite some being found previously, a total of 106 episodes featuring the first and second Doctors, William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton, are still missing. Apparently the ones that have been found and are being handed over to the BBC are reportedly from Ethiopia or Sierra Leone.

With the 50th anniversary coming up next month this is some more great news for Doctor Who fans. Just have to wait on the BBC to announce how many have been found what what episodes they are. Some sites are saying that over 100 have been found - if that is indeed the case then this is one of the greatest discoveries ever. I'd be surprised if we're that lucky though, but we can hope. Even a few would be good news.
