Cyclops Spins off into a Solo Series
Reading time: 1 minute

Cyclops is one of if not the most interesting mutants in the Marvel Universe. Greg Rucka is one of the most interesting writers to ever pick up a pen in and write in the Marvel Universe. This book is set to focus on the younger Cyclops of All-New X-Men fame. Russell Dauterman is tackling the pencils on the brand new series. With character and creator tied together in the upcoming Cyclops solo series from Marvel, readers should expect nothing but greatness. CBR unveiled the new title along with an interesting interview with Rucka himself, who had the following to say about the new book.
Spoilers for All-New X-Men #23 below,
There's a line in the first issue where Chris has been talking to Hepzibah, and Hepzibah basically says, "Look, all he wants is time with his father." Chris is like, "I'm not sure I know how to be his father." Near the end of the issue, there's a moment between Scott and Chris, and Chris says, "I'm pretty sure I suck as a dad." Scott says, "That's alright, I suck as a 16-year-old." Chris says, "I'll tell you a secret, Scott: We all suck as a 16-year-olds.

That quote proves that there is some definitive focus centered around the character. This series is spinning out of All-New X-Men #23, where Cyclops’ father (A.K.A. Crimson Corsair) takes his son a road trip. The father did not in fact die in the recent 2007 storyline "The Rise And Fall Of The Shi'ar Empire." Expect plenty of heart, and an engaging character study. Keep your eyes peeled on the new series, and pick up All-New X-Men #23 for the start of the story.
