First look at The Flash

After months of speculating whether Arrow's Barry Allen will end up looking like The Flash, or some disappointing costume (aka black The Blur costume from Smallville for Clark), Warner Bros. have finally given us a glimpse. Let's just say that I don't think anyone will be disappointed. Hopefully soon we'll see the whole suit, but it's looking very promising.

The costume looks a bit darker than we're used to, but that's probably not a bad thing. Bright red might not work so well when transferred from a comic to TV. With Grant Gustin having only appeared twice in Arrow so far, it's great to see that they're still planning to go ahead with him appearing as The Flash in the show as well as his on spin off show.

If I had to give a criticism, it would be that it looks like Gustin will struggle to turn his head properly, much like Batman in Batman Begins.

The Flash costume was designed by Colleen Atwood, a three-time Academy Award-winner who also designed Stephen Amell's "Arrow" costume - which is also pretty cool looking. The Flash pilot is executive produced by Arrow vets Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and David Nutter, directed by Nutter and written by Berlanti, Kriesberg and DC chief creative officer and former long-time "Flash" comic book writer Geoff Johns. Really can't wait.
