Archie Death Plot Details from Life With Archie #36
Reading time: 1 minute

We knew that Archie Andrews was going to die soon in Life with Archie #36, but now we know the how. AP broke the story this morning that the hero is going to die taking a bullet for one of the newer heroes of Riverdale--Kevin Keller. He was introduced in 2010 by Life with Archie creator Dan Parent, and has been placed as a sort of beacon Gay rights in the Archie Universe. Archie Comics co-CEO John Goldwater explains how the idea will be represented on the printed page.
"The way in which Archie dies is everything that you would expect of Archie," explains Goldwater.
He dies heroically. He dies selflessly. He dies in the manner that epitomizes not only the best of Riverdale but the best of all of us. It's what Archie has come to represent over the past almost 75 years
Kelley's current political push towards pro gun laws and pro gay rights has made him the likely target for a political assassination. This is a heroic manner for Archie to go out on. Who knows if Archie will stay dead, or how long this interesting new status quota will pay off. In order to see the story in more context, be sure to check out Life with Archie #36. The upcoming and final issue of Life with Archie #37 will celebrate the life of the late great Archie Andrews, and will be in stores next month.
