Marvel's Agent Carter 'Snafu' Review: This is Quite Pleasant
Reading time: 2 minutes

It’s the penultimate episode of the season for Marvel’s Agent Carter. With a sharp first year that involves the titular character engaged in high espionage, what could the last moments of the season have in store for the show?
Sousa shines.
Daniel Sousa has many moments to sparkle here including the interrogation scenes. He raises his evidence against Carter and finally gets to illustrate why he’s one of the sharpest Agents in the S.S.R.. Of Course, Peggy won’t sell out the information that Stark gave her until she’s see’s a reason too. The interrogation scenes are edited with cut precision that makes them some of the best parts of the episode. Nobody is quite sure of what Carter has in-store for the rest of the group. The more she admits her true intentions, the less the rest of the Agents seems to believe her.
Jarvis gets his spy on.
Jarvis makes a dashing appearance to the S.S.R., and comes back with a confession signed from Stark himself. Carter officially is fired after being set free, and ends up grabbing some secret documents on her way out. Then again, at the end of this episode, everyone is fired from the S.S.R.. Jarvis continued the evolution of his spy work as a character by getting out Peggy with a forged note. His whip smart attitude still gives him the best lines and scene stealing moments within the episode. With so much happening behind-the-scenes in the agency, Carter and Jarvis almost took a backseat in this episode. They still got the chance to share this incredible exchange:
Carter: Have you ever been hung Mr. Jarvis.
Jarvis: I can’t say that I have.
Carter: It’s quite unpleasant.
The cabinet of Dr. Dooley.
Dooley is under the clutches of the evil doctor. This plot thread is pretty looney, and wouldn’t work on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the exact same way. This show has never repeated S.H.I.E.L.D., but has done a good job in always feeling authentic and unique. This episode is very much reminiscent of the classic film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, in which an evil Doctor manipulates his patients.
What are the secrets of the widows?
Sousa tries to arrest Dottie Underwood in a scene where my only response is: this isn’t going to end well. It’s going to take a lot of those S.S.R. men to bring her down. It’s curious to see how the Black Widow program will continue to develop over the course of the show. We still only have bits and pieces regarding it’s existence. It took a while but the various men and women of the S.S.R. are finally beginning to regard Peggy’s credibility. The men at the program really need a new infrastructure in place, as just a couple people were able to cause all hell to break loose in the agency.
In closing...
After successfully collapsing an agency, what could the villains of the show have in-store next? Will Marvel’s Agent Carter be able to end the season on a strong note?
I think the answer is probably yes, but tune in next week and make sure to catch our recaps.
