The Flash 'Rogue Time' Review: Don't drink with Cisco and a Blonde
Reading time: 3 minutes

Out of Time has transitioned into Rogue Time, as The Flash has embraced the the roots of DC comics. Read on to figure out what we thought of tonight’s episode of The Flash.
Spoilers lie beyond these dark and stormy waters.
The time travel aspects of the show have shifted The Flash into a brand new oasis of intrigue, showing that there may be more complexity to the hour than we had initially thought.
Joe West is having a hard time dealing with Barry keeping secrets for him. Their close relationship is essential to the forefront of the show (if just for a moment), and we get a hint leading to the tragedy that will come in the finale. (WHEN JOE DIES.) I called it!
Cisco Ramon has a complicated family.
Caitlin and Cisco are enjoying their time in the episode, and we are seeing what happened in a whole new light. His family seems to be more complicated than we had initially thought. Cisco’s brother throws a sloppy yet elegant pass at Caitlin. He’s a tempered pristine douchebag that knows just how to lob a jab at his little scrappy brother. Either way, their relationship would be touching if the writing between the two wasn’t so on-the-nose.
What is Harrison up to?
Harrison Wells already knows what happened just a few moments into the episode with Barry’s time travels, and has has no idea what Allen knows. Barry is forced by Harrison to jump back and do nearly everything that he has done before. His relationship with the S.T.A.R. Labs team is complicated and unique to this show. I always question whether The Flash will really be able to recover from the loss of a villain like Wells that may occur at the end of the season. Gideon, the computer in Wells throne room is revealed to have full control of the newspaper. Whether or not this is really building towards a crisis is still up for debate.
Captain Cold and Heatwave come back with dull friends.
Since The Flash took out the Weather Wizard so soon, Captain Cold and Heat Wave have returned to reign terror on Central City. Throwing them in a crowded episode like this helps the group service the plot in a different manner. They are mechanic wheels driving this episode and nothing more.
Don't go to the bar Cisco.
Cisco’s random dating element is odd and distasteful. The bar scene puts Cisco in the clutches of none-other-than Captain Cold. Wentworth Miller is despicable in the role, and a little silly in all the different aspects of his life. Leonard Snart (Captain Cold’s sister) is truly atrocious Lisa in the role. The one dimensional line delivery is a huge issue here. If they are going to be such important characters on the show, the performances by these actors needs to be sorted out.
Don't derail the show Iris.
Barry comes on strong with Iris and she pretends like she doesn’t care about him. She tries to vindictively throw herself away from Allen seemingly just to piss her off. Now there’s a big debate as to whether the only reason why time changed is just paint something different than from before. Either way, this is a method that keeps Barry away from Iris for the foreseeable future.
The deal.
I’ve been waiting quite a while for Captain Cold and The Flash to strike some kind of deal this episode, and they finally do. Of course this ties into comic origins and stories told by the character.
What's left?
After every plot thread is resolved, someone still manages to catch Harrison Wells on his bullshit. Nice.
