"Blinded" is an experimental comic book that narrates the story of a young woman named Sam. After losing her sight in an accident, she struggles to adapt to her new life by relying on her other senses.

It's a brand new comic from Joe S. Farrar that is on Kickstarter right now.

What makes this unique is that the comic contains no visuals or artwork. Instead, it aims to encourage readers to interpret the story as if they were experiencing the events themselves. The comic relies on speech and special effects to represent the sounds that Sam hears in her daily life.

The main reason I wanted to do it is just because it seemed unusual. Every now and then, you'll see "silent" issues with no words, but it's rarer to see it the other way around. On top of that, I've only worked with a few letterers but they always enhance the comic with their skills, so it seemed like a nice challenge to really focus on that for a comic and make it the main appeal.

The first issue of the comic consists of 24 pages of story content, which is slightly higher than the standard US-comic. However, due to the lack of artwork, the digital issue will be available at a reduced price so that readers feel like they're getting their money's worth.

Joe S. Farrar has written the comic, with Rob Jones on the challenging task of lettering with no accompanying artwork. Rob even commented on Twitter, "there's a double page spread in this, which might well be the greatest thing I've ever lettered."

Each page is a blank canvas that readers can use their senses and imagination to make sense of the story, much like the character of Sam does. This is a Kickstarter project that is based on the idea of allowing the reader to interpret scenes as they see fit and make their own mark on the story. And with the super-low price reflecting that, this isn't some cheap cash-in. No, this is an experimental comic that should be different for every reader and that is interesting.
