Commando Comics Briefing: Issues 5987-5990

Commando Comics issues 5987-5990 go on sale Thursday 27th August, and the standout is the return of Sergeant Rayker. Simon Topping brings him back in Retribution, with the Americans pushing into Germany and Rayker holding one private objective: Wolfgang Viessmann of the SS, the man who murdered his friend Clancy Davis.
Three more stories complete the set. Resistance! leaves Eleanor Moraux alone in occupied France after her cell is betrayed, carrying memorised intel that could help the British while a Gestapo officer hunts her. Two reprints sit alongside it: Flash-Point! from 1972, in which a secret weapon melts tanks into useless lumps of metal, and Flight of No Return from 1985, an Ian Kennedy cover on a story about Fairey Battle crews who flew missions they were unlikely to survive.

Commando 5987 (Home of Heroes): Sergeant Rayker: Retribution
Sergeant Rayker is back! As the Americans advance, Rayker's mind is on victory, but also on revenge for his friend Clancy Davis, who was murdered by the SS.
As his unit moves further into Germany, the horrors of the Nazi regime are revealed, but will Rayker be able to exact his personal retribution, or will Wolfgang Viessmann of the SS evade justice?

Commando 5989 (For Action and Adventure): Resistance!
Occupied France, 1942. After her cell of French Resistance fighters is betrayed and their intel destroyed, Eleanor Moraux finds herself unsure who to trust, and on the run from a fearsome Gestapo officer. But Eleanor has memorised vital intel that could assist the British and free her homeland — she must resist capture and she must escape.

Commando 5990 (Silver): Flight of No Return
The Fairey Battle bomber was hopelessly out of date by the start of the Second World War. Yet many brave crews still flew them into action, taking on the might of the Luftwaffe — even though they knew their chances of survival were poor.
Some pilots even volunteered to tackle missions that they knew were going to be one-way trips...
