Commando Presents... Braddock volume 2 arrives on 15th September, 2026. Matt Braddock, Bomber Pilot VC, was the RAF pilot who wouldn't take a commission and wouldn't fly by the book. Braddock volume 2 gathers his later missions into a single collection, drawing on strips and prose that have been out of print for years.
First introduced in The Rover story papers in 1952, Braddock became one of DC Thomson's most enduring war heroes. Braddock takes to the skies once more in a graphic novel built around the Commando issue "Braddock's Demons". Classic stories and artwork from The Rover, Red Dagger and Victor sit alongside it.
The Second World War intensifies and Nazi forces advance. Braddock faces the hardest challenges of his career. He has a new crew, mounting losses and the constant danger of Bomber Command operations. To keep his Blenheim crew alive, he must confront his own fears and inner demons. Suddaby, meanwhile, is determined to make life difficult. The pressure may prove too much even for the RAF's finest bomber pilot.
The collection runs to more than 180 pages of comic-strip action, rare archive material and classic covers. Behind-the-scenes features complete the book, which also serves as a record of DC Thomson's publishing history.
Artwork comes from Jeff Bevan, Ian Kennedy, Mario Morhain and aviation artist Keith Burns. The volume also carries the conclusion to the prose story 'I Flew With Braddock'. Red Dagger's 'Braddock of the Rocket Squadron' and further 'Braddock VC' strips complete the line-up.
