The Day of Dredd first took place almost a decade ago. It aims to encourage readers new and old to discover 2000 AD's biggest character and Britain's greatest comics export. Dredd is a hardline future cop created by John Wagner (A History of Violence) and Carlos Ezquerra (Preacher). For almost half a century he has brought justice to the mean streets of the vast Mega-City One.

Those stories thrill readers while satirising everything from Margaret Thatcher to Donald Trump, and from fad fashions to freedom fighters. The strip helped launch the careers of some of comics' biggest names. Dredd has become one of the most iconic characters in British comics, and even part of the English language!

The 50th anniversary of 2000 AD and Judge Dredd arrives in February 2027. Special plans to celebrate the occasion will be announced in the coming months. The Day of Dredd gives fans a chance to pass on their passion for The Law. It also gives new readers a way into the world of one of the most important characters in comics.

The Judge Dredd: The Complete Case Files series is long-running and best-selling. Alongside it, the Essential Judge Dredd line of graphic novel collections lets readers encounter the big epic storylines. Those stories have influenced comics and global culture over the last fifty years!

Don't miss the chance to dive into some Dredd on 3 October - obey the Day of Dredd!
