Embers Kickstarter: Lyndon White Launches New Fantasy Graphic Novel in October

The Embers Kickstarter opens on 1 October with a target of £8,000 and a closing date of 31 October. Embers is a new fantasy graphic novel by Lyndon White. All artwork is finished, so the money raised will pay for the print run rather than the book's production.
As faith in magic dwindles and dark forces stir, a Fire Demon stalks the land. The creature corrupts the townspeople of Wispmire into cinder and ash. Idris, a young wizard who gave up magic, returns home to a town cursed by old sins. It now sits under the protection of the mysterious Keeper of the Grove.
Some shun magic, while others pay tribute to the Keeper. Idris must come to terms with his past and with the town that banished him as a child. Will he forgive the people who caused him such pain? Or let revenge and hatred burn, and corrupt this wizard's heart?
The Embers Kickstarter Story: Magic, Monsters and Forgiveness
Embers is an original fantasy story about magic, monsters and the cost of forgiveness. At its core sits a forced friendship between Idris and Sigrid. The pair try to save the townspeople of Wispmire from a Fire Demon. But who created this demon? Where did it come from? It's a story full of twists and turns. The two heroes are drawn into the dark history of the town. They begin to question if everyone deserves to be saved.
Idris has another adventure in Lyndon's book Candles, joined by his talented apprentice Ava. The two of them find themselves exiled from their home and try to save it from a nature plague called Dark-bark. Embers is a little darker than Candles, but both can be read separately and in any order. There's more story to tell, and Idris is at the heart of it.
Embers is also the first half of a two-part series, and the Embers Kickstarter covers only the first book. Artwork production on the second book is scheduled to begin at the end of 2026.
Lyndon White is a UK-based artist, writer and letterer. His comics work includes Antarctica, Sparks and the Fallen Star, and the Reanimator series. Credits include Image Comics, Top Cow, Titan Comics and Blue Fox Comics. He teaches Sequential Arts at Salford University and has been a part of more than sixty Kickstarter campaigns to date.
