Looking for creative ways to keep the kids inspired this half-term? Good news, then, as there are some Half-Term Cartoon Workshops at The Cartoon Museum in London. There's a whole series of hands-on workshops that blend fun, learning, and artistic flair. Whether your child dreams of becoming a comic book creator or simply loves to doodle, these sessions offer something for every budding artist.

Check out what is coming up and get involved. There really is something for everyone, with different styles and artistic tastes. Got an 8+ year old looking for something to do this half-term? Have a look at The Cartoon Museum's fabulous creative workshops!

The Cartoon Museum, 63 Wells St, London W1A 3AE. Places on all workshops are limited, so advance booking is essential. Book online at www.cartoonmuseum.org/learn. Workshops are for children aged 8-14 and cost £15 per person attending.

Any children attending 2 separate sessions at the museum on the same day must be collected at lunchtime so the classroom can be made ready for the afternoon workshop.

28th October: Make a Mini Comic (morning).

31st October: Halloween Horror (morning).

Lots of comic creators got started by making mini-comics. Learn how to create your own characters and draw them into a special booklet that you'll easily be able to make copies of to give to your friends.

Join award-winning children's author and illustrator Adam Stower for a spook-tacular drawing workshop at The Cartoon Museum to celebrate the release of his latest book, Murray and Bun: Murray the Ghosthunter! Come along and hear all about the adventures of Murray and Bun, the stars of his hilarious and highly-illustrated series, and have your pencils at the ready to practice your drawing skills with Adam! Packed to the brim with fun and creativity, this event is perfect for all budding illustrators!

Adam Stower is an award-winning author and illustrator who has published lots of brilliant books and who is also the illustrator of several books by David Walliams, including Super Sleuth, Astrochimp and The World's Worst Superheroes. His Murray & Bun series is perfect for newly independent readers and fans of Bunny vs Monkey, Dog Man, Adventure Mice and Claude.

Ages 7+, all skill levels welcome.

Mythical MangaManga and anime are filled with dragons, humans that turn into dragons, and other strange and wonderful creatures. In this workshop you'll learn how to draw different types and feature them in a page of story artwork.

Thursday 30 Oct. 2-3.30pm.

Learn how to design your own cartoon characters and then draw them in a one-page comic strip story. Study best ways and bad ways to draw pictures for comics, and how to do proper speech bubbles. Great for beginners, and fun for those with a little more experience. 

Half-Term Workshop - 31st October: Halloween Horror

Friday 31 Oct. 11am-12.30pm.

Come and draw vampires, witches, werewolves, Frankenstein's Monster, ghosts and ghouls – or make up your own fiendish creature. Then we'll be putting them into a scarily funny comic strip.

Friday 31 Oct. 2-3.30pm.

Whether you're new to the world of Japanese comics, or if you love manga and anime characters and would like to create your own, we'll be looking at the basics of drawing manga, creating our own character, and then featuring them in a page of manga front cover artwork.
