Magpies: Sorrow or Joy? Colossive’s Latest Drop
Reading time: 1 minute
"Magpies: Sorrow or Joy?" is Colossive Press's latest zine - a £4 deep dive into corvid folklore, goblins, and the curious symbolism of onions. Based on the now infamous debate at Cambridge's International Symposium of Folklorist Corvidologists, Professor Margaret Pye and Doctor James Crowe tackle the age-old question: are magpies harbingers of sorrow or joy?

It features an edited transcript of the Symposium of Folklorist Corvidologists debate. The pair discussed some of the most frequently asked questions about magpie folklore. There's a lot! It also includes content about dead nuns, goblins, and onions. There's something for everyone, really. If you don't believe us, then your only option is to buy it and find out for yourselves!
But that's not all! Every zine comes with a FREE Lucky Feather™, endorsed by Professor Pye, while stocks last. Although you must note the accompanying disclaimer from lawyers acting on behalf of Doctor Crowe...

The zine is in A5 format, 16 pages with a card cover. Plus a scuzzy old feather and a handwritten luggage label.
It's available today, at the Art Hub in New Cross, for the PageMasters zine fair. Can't get to this weekend's zine fair? Buy Magpies: Sorrow or Joy? for £4 here.
