New SHOKWAVE Autumn 2026 - Four New Strips Hit Kickstarter
Reading time: 2 minutes
The new SHOKWAVE Autumn 2026 anthology is live on Kickstarter now, from John A. Short. He's joined by artists David Hitchcock, Adam Jakes, Richard Pester and Chris Askham. The campaign runs until 1 November 2026 and funds a 48-page, American comic-sized issue in colour and black-and-white. The goal is £750.
Shokwave runs four ten-page strips in an issue. Each one in a different style, and all four regulars are back.

What is in the SHOKWAVE Autumn 2026 Anthology
Nosferatu II carries on the sequel to the 1922 silent horror classic. In The Endless Night, Konrad - valet to occult scholar Von Krueger - sits in a New York confession box and recounts the pair being confronted by Graf Orlok on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic, during a rain of slugs. A rain of slugs! David Hitchcock draws it.

Resistors is set fifty years from now, with a robot rebellion under way. Escape Velocity puts rogue droids Jez, Daisy, and Penny in a network of storm drains, hunted by a swarm of killer drones that carry pulse rounds that need only one hit. Art by Richard Pester.

The Clock Strikes! is the revival of The Clock. Now in the public domain, and the first masked man in American comics. Schemes brings Chicago's top assassin, Mister Smoke, to New York with a contract on the Clock and on Scarlet Hunter, an old flame of Smoke's. He works in pressure points and nerve pinches, so this one does not look like a fair fight. Adam Jakes is on art.

Anna Key is the daft sci-fi one, and Anna's lies are finally catching up with her. Disclosure has her trying to stop the authorities from realising that the town sheriff is a convicted thief, whilst also stopping her criminal boyfriend from realising that his posh titled lady is the town sheriff. Chris Askham draws it in full colour.

Covers and rewards
There are two covers this time. The regular is by Clock Strikes artist Adam Jakes, and there is a rare Kickstarter exclusive by Nosferatu II artist David Hitchcock, with a reward tier that gets you both.
Chris Askham is also offering original A4 custom sketches of a character of your choice. These are available in limited numbers and first come, first served. If you have been meaning to get something framed by the Switchblade Stories artist, move quickly on that one.
Never read Shokwave before? All issues are available through this Kickstarter! On a budget? Why not go for the digital reward option? You can get all 9 issues of Shokwave so far as a digital PDF set. Physical copies are all available too.
