Secrets to Successful Comic Crowdfunding Campaigns by Tripwire on Kickstarter now

Author: Ben Williams

Dive into the world of comic book creation with "Crowdfund Your Comic!" This comprehensive guide, now live on Kickstarter, distils the expertise of Tripwire's editor-in-chief, Joel Meadows.

After nine successful crowdfunding campaigns using Kickstarter, Indiegogo and Zoop, Tripwire decided that their tenth campaign would be a little different:

"As editor-in-chief of Tripwire, the UK's longest-running comics and genre magazine and website, I have always been looking for different ways to support how we publish our print magazine. When we decided to bring it back to print in 2020 after a number of years away, it seemed that using crowdfunding was the best model to use. Fast forward four years later, and we have now run nine successful crowdfunding campaigns, with each one exceeding its target by a significant amount, raising $50,000. So armed with this knowledge, I felt it was time for me to share my insights with our audience as to how you can conceive and run a crowdfunding campaign yourself. I also wanted to put something back into the comics industry.

Crowdfunding isn't an easy option necessarily, but it is a very democratised way for creators at any level in their career to bring their creative dreams to fruition. This book, 120 pages in A5 paperback and a limited edition hardcover too, will offer a clear and accessible guide to every aspect of the process from that initial spark to composing a campaign, to promoting and running that campaign, to hitting your target and surpassing your expectations. It will crystalise every essential step and factor that you need to consider to make your campaign a success."
