This week there were three lovely comics each representing something commendable in the space of comics. These are our three top picks that you better not have left your local shop without!

Howard the Duck #1
First up is Howard the Duck, which saw the titular character embark on an insane cadre of weirdness that we loved every second of. The comic had some truly remarkable interplay with the leading duck and the rest of the cast.

This issue is surprisingly comprehensive in terms of plot, giving some real narrative threats and potentially status quota changing elements that are set to shake up Howard’s own Universe in a pretty massive way leading into the Secret Wars.

Howard the Duck #1 should be on your pull list because you are a good human being that loves cute animals and crazy duck action.

Ninjak #1
Next is Ninjak, a comic that saw Colin King, a ninja in training adjust to the ways of the Ninja world, and get an assignment to take on some of the most dastardly foes of the Valiant Universe hiding in the shadows.

This tale was multifaceted, giving fans three different windows into the world of Colin Kelley via three sets of different ages for the MI-6 ninja. There is so much to learn from the character within the space of this issue that this comic will give you kung-fu powers (not really.)

Ninjak is an essential read for the amount of talent poured into each page within the series. This is what good things are made out of.

Avengers #42
Avengers #42 had a WTF reveal at the end featuring the identity of Rabum Alal that had my head spinning in a few different directions. This is the comic that still makes me question my sanity with each coming issue.

Avengers is the best and strangest comic I have ever read featuring the Avengers, spanning multiple species, and being far too complicated for it’s own good. I still love the comic and embrace the series as soon as it ships each-and-every-month.

Anyone willing to dig into something deep with their Marvel history should pick up Avengers #42 and attempt to decipher what’s happening within this story. I promise it will be worth it!

Now go buy some comics!
