The Red Letter Day – Tom Baker MBE Leads a New Sir Sherlock Adventure
The game is afoot! AUK Studios is thrilled to announce that Tom Baker MBE is set to star as Sir Sherlock Holmes in a brand-new audio adventure, The Red Letter Day, for release in March 2026.

Set in 1924, The Red Letter Day sees the former consulting detective finally accept a knighthood. Having lived the quiet life on the Sussex Downs, Holmes is drawn back to London, where, joined by his friend Doctor John Watson, they are both embroiled in a new murder investigation.
Fans can pre-order a CD and/or a novelisation of Sir Sherlock: The Red Letter Day today via the production's official Kickstarter page.
Tom Baker MBE returns to the role of Holmes for the first time since being on screen in the 1982 BBC production of The Hound of the Baskervilles (and being on stage in 1985's The Mask of Moriarty).
Tom Baker says: "Thanks to AUK Studios for letting me have another go at inhabiting the super sleuth. Third time lucky!" He continues: "I hope I did his pipe proud this time. Enjoy my return to Baker Street - very aptly named, I think.
Fellow Doctor Who alumnus John Leeson joins the cast as Dr John Watson. Having previously appeared as the voice of K9, the robot dog companion to the Fourth Doctor, Leeson is reunited with Baker, bringing the same dogged determination and sharp logic to this new pairing. Their real-life friendship and effortless chemistry allow them to slip seamlessly into an older, wiser, and wittier incarnation of Holmes and Watson.
As John Leeson says: "It was a delight to work with Tom again and - at last – this time I was playing the Doctor!"

The production also features Operation Mincemeat star Nicholas Rowe as Norton, who himself has portrayed Holmes, first in Young Sherlock Holmes (1985) and again in Mr. Holmes (2016), as well as Katy Ashworth (CBeebies), in her audio drama debut, playing Sergeant Emily Lestrade; whilst the late great Norman Eshley embodies Lord Lestrade. This production is dedicated to his memory. A notable supporting cast of Conrad Westmaas, Wink Taylor, Barnaby Eaton-Jones, and Ian Kubiak round out the roles. Sir Sherlock: The Red Letter Day is written by Gary Hopkins, who wrote on the beloved Granada TV Sherlock Holmes television series' The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes and The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (starring Jeremy Brett).
Gary Hopkins says: "It's so nice to be back at 221B Baker Street again… It seemed like unfinished business that Tom Baker hadn't returned to the part sooner, so I'm delighted that he's back for these new adventures of 'Sir Sherlock'."
The production was directed and produced by AUK Studios creative director Barnaby Eaton-Jones, who also served as script editor, casting director, and lent his voice to the character of Weymss. Barnaby Eaton-Jones says: "We hope everyone will want to hear this new take on an old favourite and will support us by backing this Kickstarter. By doing so, it will let us know if you would like more of Sir Sherlock! Let's get this first mystery out there for everyone to solve!"
Sir Sherlock: The Red Letter Day is available to pre-order now, with CDs and official novelisations available via Kickstarter.
