Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Week begins!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier had some giant ramifications for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which includes Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. To celebrate Comic Book News UK is kicking off a Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. week with a ton of new content! USA Today finally gave the first few details that fans are waiting for regarding the show itself.

The Secret Warriors comic book twist in the third act of Captain America was a welcome leap forward for SHIELD. Hydra had been hidden inside SHIELD for the group's entire existence. The organization has been stagnant, and has too closely looked that same as when the superhero organization initially started in the first Iron Man film. In addition to being a great film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier should have real legs in how it has affected it’s world. This gives the stumbling Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. a massive new thread to pick up on in it’s final six episodes. The show’s entire base of operations has completely changed, and who could possibly imagine what is going to happen next. This is where executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen comes in to start explaining what is going to happen next.

Survival is a huge part of it, There is no more tapping into big S.H.I.E.L.D. through the holo-comm. The guns you have on the plane are the guns you have. They're basically left with the bare minimum."

There is said to be a betrayal on Coulson’s team that is going to start shaking things up as well, this is good for a show that is in need of a new dynamic. Up to this point, it has been far too stagnant, and kept it’s cards much too hidden for fans to get truly invested in any of the plot points. The show has also failed for global appeal, as it is still behind NCIS and The Voice. The internet contingent of people have also criticized the annoying new character additions and silly dialogue.

Hopefully people who've had mixed feelings about the show will now understand it was all part of a big plan,

says Tancharoen in defense of the show.

Fans should also be enamored with seeing Patton Oswalt, Adrian Pasdar, and Amy Acker on the show. All three actors are extremely nerd friendly, and should give the show some excellent energy.

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs this Tuesday, and this week installment it entitled Turn Turn Turn. Comic Book News UK is having a week devoted to the show, with a new video, review, and editorial piece all coming up this week.
