After the surprise solicit featuring the Moon Knight creators announcing their departure on the title, many were skeptical about the announcement and thought that there would be a high chance of the news proving false. However, the solicitation text proved correct, and a new team is coming aboard. The information for Moon Knight #6 included the following statement.

• Don’t miss the conclusion of Warren Ellis, Declan Shalvey and Jordie Bellaire.

The new creators announced the news via an interview with Newsarama this afternoon, showcasing Brian Wood and Greg Smallwood as the next two creators that are set to tackle the book. This announcement give Wood a new home at Marvel after his surprise absence on the official X-Men title that he so greatly fostered into excellence. It is also a shame to have the acclaimed Warren Ellis and Declan Shalvey absent from the title after a mere six issues. However, Marvel has indeed found a suitable replacement for the fan favorite team. This will likely affect the sales of the book going forward, and will hopefully not send Moon Knight and friends off to the chopping block. Jordie Bellaire is signed on to continue to color the story after the departure of Ellis and company. Brian Wood shared the following statement on his new Marvel gig.

We're keeping the one-shot structure, and I'm also trying to keep the not-quite-the-real-world thing Warren does so well, as well as his talent for pacing and minimalism of story but still delivering a solid read. The first story takes place in New York City during a blackout. Moon Knight's been described as a protector of night travelers, and in this case, in a blackout, everyone's a night traveler.

Here is Greg Smallwood detailing the visual tone of the comic.

My approach to the character is strictly a visual one. He's the light in a dark world. Unlike a certain pointy-eared vigilante, he doesn't hide in the shadows; he stands out from them. He's confident and aggressive so his posture and fighting style reflects that. He's constantly charging ahead and making mistakes along the way. I like that about him. I like heroes with flaws.

Moon Knight #6 ships in August, while Wood and Smallwood's Issue #7 hits stores in September.
