We thought it would be a slow news day today, and we were wrong. It seems Marvel has revealed that recent Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. supporting player Deathlock is set to receive his own ongoing series. Author Nathan Edmondson is writing the tale drawn by Mike Perkins. This is the same team that is set to be handling the Deathlock stories in the Original Sins title from Marvel Comics. Out of that, the team is spinning him off into his own series. The book is set to debut this October with Deathlock #1. The Hollywood Reporter announced the news and ran the following quote from Edmondson on the direction that he is taking the series in.

Deathlok' is an opportunity to turn the distinction between ally and foe within the Marvel universe right on its head, says Edmondson.

The author has been exploring the Marvel Universe in a big way with his new work on Punisher and Black Widow. Both books are filled with street level explorations into new corners of the Marvel Universe. The writer also described how he is going to tackle Deathlock in light of the successful television show.

Wrapped up in bleeding-edge tech, our 'Deathlok' series will take what readers remember of the iconic anti-hero and what viewers love now of the character portrayed by J. August Richards in 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' and dive in with a twisting story of espionage and family.

Be sure to pick up Deathlock in October along with Punisher and Black Widow all shipping from Marvel Comics.
