First Picture From The Wolverine
Fox have released the first picture from The Wolverine via their Twitter account. It's just a photo of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the highly anticipated follow up to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but it's a beast of a picture. Or rather, Jackman looks like an absolute beast! He looks more ripped than ever before.
Good news though is that the claws look good, unlike in his first stand alone film where the look of the claws can only be described as bloody awful. Still don't know how they got it so wrong when they got them so right in the X-Men trilogy. As long as that's sorted for this film then I'm happy. If you must CGI them, at least do it well for Gods sake!
Directed by James Mangold the film is based on the 1982 miniseries by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, and finds Logan as an outsider in Japan, where he must battle ninjas (excitment rising), Silver Samurai (excitment rising some more) and the politics of the Tokyo criminal underworld for the heart of his ex-lover Mariko Yashida, daughter of a Japanese crime lord (eh, not as exciting as ninjas and samurais).
Hugh Jackman is joined by a cast that includes Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, Yun Lee, Brian Tee and Naoya Ogawa. "The Wolverine" opens July 26, 2013.
