Kindt dives Below the Surface with Dept. H
Reading time: 1 minute

This is one that we forgot before San Diego, but Matt Kindt just announced that he already plans on following up Mind MGMT with a new series entitled Dept. H. The new story is a 24-issue comic set deep underwater. Every issue chronicles a single day in the life of Agent Mia. The comic, published by Dark Horse features Mia trying to escape the Challenger Deep -- in addition one of the individuals on-board the Challenger is the one that set off the bomb landing each member stuck aboard the ship. Kindt’s wife Sharlene is painting the title with watercolors, while Kindt himself is drawing and writing the comic book.
Kindt shared his feelings on the new title via CBR: I've been wanting to do some kind of underwater adventure story since, well -- since I was a kid. I finally had a unique enough idea to go along with the location to make it worth doing. Every new project is sort of a reaction to or response to the project that has come before it; with "MIND MGMT," I was trying to make the most layered and dense reading experience that you could possibly have in a comic, so with this -- it's going to be a nice breath of fresh air I think. A slightly more friendly adventure story that will be told in a more straight-narrative fashion.
Don't get me wrong: there will be some strange and fun ways that it plays with the format of a monthly book. But it will have a lot less secret messages and subliminal clues in it.
