Marvel has been teasing the end of the Ultimate Universe for years. At New York Comic-Con, Marvel unveiled a brand new version of their original Secret Wars event. Since then, they have been posting revamps of their recent event storylines which many assume are just little hints and teases that are simply part of the event. The latest teaser is one that is turning a couple more heads than usual as it is entitled “The End”. This is in reference to a group of Marvel mini-series that proposed the end times of Marvel heroes and villains which launched in 2003.

Many assumed that their most recent event in that world in the form of Cataclysm was going to be the event storyline to finally end that world once and for all. The end seems appropriate, as there have been a number of new launches that have not been incredibly successful aside from Ultimate Spider-Man which is currently still undergoing a successful creative launch six issues in. The other books in the line have been relaunched again and again, and at some point, it’s worth asking if Marvel is finally ready to get rid of this world and these books.

The confusion is something that Marvel is only amplifying at this point, making it frustrating to see if the end is really in site for the Ultimate world or not. It’s hard to tell what they are planning to do, and whether or not the publishing imprint is actually going to get rid of this lucrative franchise or try to relaunch it yet again. Stay tuned to ComicBookNews.co.uk, as we will have an editorial on the pieces as soon as Marvel is done releasing them or has some kind of recognition of where this is coming from or what they plan to do next with all this information

ultimate end
