After seven months of mystery, the identity of Marvel's new female Thor has been revealed.
Spoilers ahead - you've been warned.

Announced via The New York Times, Marvel have revealed that the recently introduced female Thor is none-other than long-time Thor supporting character Jane Foster. The official reveal will be in this week Thor #8 and comes after seven months of speculation and plenty of potential candidates, including our theory that Thor could be Loki in disguise. How wrong were we?! Foster returned to the Thor series in 2013 when it was revealed had been battling breast cancer.
“Jane Foster has been part of the Thor comics and the Thor mythology from almost the very beginning. The very act of picking up this hammer, of becoming Thor, is killing her. Where we go from here is the real story."
series writer Jason Aaron
Although Aaron says that Foster continues to have frail health, the character appeared in the All-New, All-Different Avengers #1 released on May 2, said to take place after the Secret Wars event.
Thor #8 is illustrated by Russell Dauterman, and goes on sale Wednesday.
