The Evenfall Legion: Epic Space Fantasy Graphic Novel Launching on Kickstarter
Reading time: 2 minutes
The Evenfall Legion is an all-ages, 272-page, black-and-white epic space fantasy graphic novel. Its Kickstarter campaign launches at 1pm (UK time) on May the Fourth.

Sergio Calvet, a Spanish comics creator, wrote, drew and lettered the book. It's a love letter to adventure movies in the old Star Wars tradition. In this all-ages tale, he's tried to recapture the atmosphere of those movies. He draws on classic adventure serials like Genndy Tartakovsky's Samurai Jack, Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo and Jeff Smith's Bone.
The Evenfall Legion will be published in the UK, under the Freaktown Comics Presents imprint run by the editor, Russell Hillman.
The Story
It's been 20 years since the battle of the Moons of Khúranu and the destruction of the last free Nibul ship at the hands of the Sento clan. Twenty years since they were awarded the right to rule over this otherwise unremarkable trading post. Such an undeserving prize for such an amazing feat!

But the time has come to move towards making up for that injustice. By joining the latest revolt against the ancestral Kaikn ruling families, they will stake their clan's standing. Their goal: to conquer the glory they were denied in the past. Their son's marriage to the heiress of one of the insurgent clans will seal the deal.
The Evenfall Legion's wedding promises to be a big affair. But for an event of this size, some unsuspected attendees are always to be expected…

Enter Mukae Dame, veteran and retired soldier of many Kaikn campaigns. A man of many regrets and many aches on his way to his retirement place at Khúranu. With him comes a secret. Following him comes someone holding a murderous grudge.
In the lower boroughs of the capital, Tallent and Sana Bouken shelter a band of lowlifes and misfits. In their ranks, survivors of the last war and orphans of the Kaikn tyranny. They've been preparing. The resistance is about to become rebellion… and they also keep an uncanny secret.

And unbeknownst to everyone, a little fugitive girl arrives at Khúranu bringing a mysterious and, you guessed it, secret cargo.
