Blending a neon-soaked future dystopia with a Gaia-like world of beast-gods, spirit magic, and a malevolent ancient evil, The Wilder is a genre-bending thrill ride in the vein of Heavy Metal magazine. At its heart, it is a story about family, connection, and finding your place in chaos.
The Wilder is co-created by Ben Canny and Liam Garrigan. They have been friends and writing partners for nearly 20 years, sharing passions for comics, video games, and film. They decided to bring to life some of the crazy ideas they've been thinking about. And The Wilder is the result!
Bringing their story to life is the incredible art of Axel Medellin. Axel is known for his work on Elephantmen and other acclaimed projects. His art weaves together the futuristic, hyper-colour Earth and the spirit magic realm of Mor.
Joining as letterer is Rob Jones (Griff Gristle, Thunderchild). And there'll be a stunning variant cover by Eisner Award winner John J. Pearson (In Bloom, Department of Truth, Mindset, Blood Moon). The Wilder boasts an epic international team.

Earth 2196, an era of global authoritarianism; Earth is controlled by the mysterious omniscient megasystem (OM), a ruthless AI and its cabal of tech elites. Between that and the underworld run by vicious grapple gangs, survival has become a rigged game. But in the slums of New Baltimore, young orphan Jaheem Johnson believes he has the smarts to stay alive. However, things take a turn for the weird when he discovers a strange, magical artefact that binds to his arm and rips him through a rift in space-time.
He wakes to find himself on Mor: a hyper-colour alternate world where beast-gods known as the Wilder rule and spirit magic reigns. Yet a corruption is spreading through this land. The Wilders find themselves on the precipice of war. Tethered against his will to one of these beast-gods known as Helfor, Jaheem must fight alongside her, and with other human otherlings pulled across the rift, to face a prophesied nightmare: the endless being.
Sentient AI, rideable beast-gods, spirit magic, multiverse rifts, magneto repulser boots, and necrotic swamp creatures all collide in The Wilder. But beneath the chaos lies a deeply human story about family, connection, and survival.
