The idea of a Black Canary/Zatanna Original Graphic novel has been in the pipeline for a longtime now. However, I never heard a whisper about the project itself until superstar Marvel artist Joe Quinones was announced as drawing the 94 page comic book project that fans should be eagerly anticipating. The artist has a style that will mesh well with the mystical sensibilities that Zatanna brings to a story. Which makes the fact the Paul Dini is writing the story even more exciting. It seems that this narrative will have a more lighthearted tone making more sense in the context of the creative team and characters. Hopefully this is a project that fans will begin to gather around because of the criticism about the New 52 is a little bit darker than many have anticipated. Initially the work was rumored to have the artwork of Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, the change in pencillers could merit better results towards the end due to the fact that the former art team can work on more projects and we can dig deeper into what a mystical project with two women from Quinones could possibly look like. Thankfully a couple pages from the title were shared with Comics Alliance take a look below,

The story centers around Dinah Lance, better known as the Black Canary defeating a band of thugs whose mystical leader seeks revenge on the heroine. Through further chaos Zatanna gets involved and the story starts to get rolling. The two female heroes are sporting their original costumes getting ready to take down crime in May 2014. Fans of the lighter side of DC should take note of this awesome OGN!
