Matt Kindt is leaving Suicide Squad in March

The Suicide Squad comic book in the New 52 has been plagued with numerous different creators and directions for as long as it has been alive. Editorial has been really heavy for the title and has caused creators like Adam Glass to leave out of frustration. In a company where creator changes are happening all too frequently, it is no surprise that Matt Kindt has announced that he is leaving the series today. However, now it is downright frustrating for those trying to enjoy the book on a monthly basis. Ales Kot wrote but four issues before Kindt jumped on for the Forever Evil tie-ins. Kindt is leaving the series that he started with issue #25 shipping in October, and his wrapping up his brief stint in issue #29 being released in March.
The writer told CBR the following yesterday,
It’s one of the things I’m scaling back on, because I don’t have time. It’s driving me crazy to do so much. I knew I could do a finite amount of time on that and do it well, but I can’t sustain it for that long and make it good, still — ‘for sure’ good. There’s a chance it could be good. I told my editor, ‘At a certain point, it’s just going to be like flipping a coin — it could turn out all right or not, depending on how I’m feeling that day.’ It’s better to take a little bit of time off and recharge my batteries.
He has at least six different other books that he is in the process of writing including Justice League Of America, Poppy!, Unity, Star Wars: Rebel Heist, Mind MGMT, and some Marvel books.
Suicide Squad #29 is shipping in March 12, 2014.
