Cartoon Museum Focus Exhibition - Ralph Steadman: Hidden Treasures, Opening 18 August!

The Cartoon Museum has opened a new exhibition with the first-ever public display of three never-before-seen artworks by British satirist, artist, cartoonist, illustrator and writer Ralph Steadman.
The works will be on display in a small intimate space in their In Focus box, where one household at a time, because we all have COVID to still think about, will be invited in for their own exclusive private encounter with three incredible artworks by one of the world's most influential living illustrators.
Ralph Steadman is one of the world's most influential living illustrators, perhaps best known for his collaborations with iconic American writer Hunter S. Thompson on the birth of 'Gonzo' journalism and the now cult-classic 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas', published in 1971. Two of the works have been generously lent by the Steadman Art Collection and have 'only ever been on display in Ralph's bathroom' in his family home! The third artwork was previously unknown, a personal gift created in memorial to a friend, which has been generously donated to The Cartoon Museum as part of this special project.
If you're making a trip to the Cartoon Museum to check it out, it's worth knowing that they have implemented a socially distanced one-way system, have hand sanitiser stations, and are using an enhanced cleaning regime. Face masks are optional. Please be respectful of people who are still very much anxious about the pandemic.
