Doctor Who Heading To Disney+ For International Viewers

The BBC has announced a deal with Disney Branded Television to provide Doctor Who on its streaming platform Disney+ internationally. Us UK folk will still only get to watch Doctor Who on the BBC. The announcement also includes a new (but very familiar familiar-looking, if you're a fan of the Tom Baker years) logo for the series.

Under a shared creative vision, the two organisations will deliver the series using Disney+ as the exclusive home for new seasons outside the UK and Ireland.

The announcement was made by the next Doctor Ncuti Gatwa, during an appearance on the American breakfast show Live with Kelly and Ryan.

The new episodes will premiere on the BBC and Disney+ beginning in late 2023 for fans all over the world.

"I love this show, and this is the best of both worlds – with the vision and joy of the BBC and Disney+ together we can launch the TARDIS all around the planet, reaching a new generation of fans while keeping our traditional home firmly on the BBC in the UK."

It's a massive deal for Doctor Who and the BBC. One which hopefully pumps some extra money their way for improvements to the series budget.

Doctor Who Disney Plus

The new logo was also a welcome surprise. Tom Baker is my favourite Doctor - he started my love for the show! So seeing an updated version of what I consider to be the finest era in the original Doctor Who series is amazing.
