Small Press Day 2026 returns on Saturday, 25th July, bringing another year of celebration for self-publishing, DIY culture, and grassroots comics across the UK, Ireland, and online. This year's event is a hybrid Small Press Day. Activities will take place both in-store and across social media, making it easier than ever to get involved wherever you are.

How to Take Part in Small Press Day 2026

In-Person Events

Comic shops and venues across the UK and Ireland are encouraged to host their own Small Press Day events. Whether that's running a small press market, organising a creator panel, or hosting a reading and signing session. Anything that champions self-published comics and zines counts. Full details on how to register, including the Event Submission page, can be found directly over at smallpressday.co.uk.

Online Participation

Can't make it to a physical event? Small Press Day goes fully digital, too. Use #SmallPressDay on Bluesky and Instagram throughout the day to share creations, recommendations, and small press stock. Photos, videos, webstore links, and purchase links are all encouraged. Make use of the hashtag. It is the hub for connecting the small press community online and widening its reach across the UK and beyond.

What is Small Press Day?

"Small press" covers the worlds of self-publishing, DIY culture, and micropublishing. It's work produced by individuals, creative collectives, or smaller boutique publishers. Small Press Day exists to provide a focused occasion to celebrate that scene and the practitioners who work within it across the UK and Ireland. It's designed as an event that requires minimal organisation for everyone involved. Ultimately, though, it will be hugely rewarding for shops, creators, and the small press community.

For stores, it's a dedicated opportunity to shine a spotlight on the self-published comics and zines they stock. What better way to attract new readers and champion local talent ahead of national fairs and conventions?
